We are looking for classroom families to volunteer for the 2025/26 school season! This year will be a bit different than in years past, so please take a moment to read the information below.
As a room family volunteer, your role is to assist your grade-level teachers in planning and coordinating class events and celebrations. If you choose to sign up, you’re committing to helping make classroom celebrations fun, inclusive, and easy for families to participate in. Your role is to support your grade-level teachers in planning and coordinating events while keeping things simple, fair, and sustainable.
Please review the volunteer responsibilities and expectations before signing up to be a room family volunteer.
To make celebrations more equitable across all classrooms and support our school’s sustainability efforts, we’re making a few updates!
Room volunteers will now be organized at the grade level rather than by individual classroom. This means families can work together, share supplies and decorations, and plan celebrations as a grade (except for preschool, which will plan at the grade level but host celebrations in their individual classrooms).
We’re looking for 3 to 4 parents per grade level to step up as co-leads to help organize volunteers and keep things running smoothly.
To help keep things equitable, we’re encouraging a $200 max spend per classroom for celebrations.
We welcome all family members—parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles—who want to get involved! Thank you for helping us create a fun, connected, and supportive classroom community!
Work as a Team
Plan celebrations together with other volunteers at your grade level.
Make sure events are welcoming and accessible to all families.
Encourage Family Involvement
Offer different ways for families to participate—whether by attending events, donating supplies, or sharing ideas.
Keep families in the loop and make it easy for them to join in.
Be Mindful of Costs
Stick to the suggested $200 per classroom budget to keep things fair across all grade-level celebrations.
Make thoughtful choices when planning events and purchasing supplies.
Let Teachers Handle Supply Requests
Volunteers should not organize classroom supply drives.
If supplies are needed, teachers will reach out directly to all student families.
Help Reduce Waste
Whenever possible, reuse and share decorations, materials, and supplies to support the school’s sustainability efforts.
Stay Connected
Work closely with other volunteers and Grade-Level Co-Leads to keep celebrations running smoothly.
Co-Leads take on a little extra responsibility by helping organize and guide the volunteers at their grade level. If you step into this role, you’ll:
Help Keep Things Organized
Be the go-to person for your grade-level volunteers.
Work with teachers to make sure events align with classroom needs and preferences.
Make Sure Things Are Fair & Fun
Help ensure celebrations are planned equitably across all classrooms.
Keep an eye on the $200 per classroom budget to make sure spending stays fair.
Share Information & Updates
Communicate with volunteers and families so everyone knows what’s going on (classroom distribution lists including contact information for all parents who opt in will be shared at the beginning of the year)
Answer questions and provide support when needed.
Encourage Sustainability
Help promote the reuse and sharing of decorations and supplies to support the school’s sustainability efforts.
Support Grade-level Volunteers
Be a resource for volunteers and help make planning easy and enjoyable!
