The Meiklejohn PTA is hosting the fifth annual ROAR Run! The ROAR Run will take place on Friday, April 17, 2026 (with a rain date of Monday, April 20, 2026) outside Meiklejohn Elementary at Beeman Park. This is our school community's biggest fundraiser each year. Each student will run as many laps as they can in 30 minutes to help raise money for Meiklejohn. Each lap is 1/16th of a mile. The average student will run 28 laps. Donations can be made per lap or as a flat amount. Students will be given a bracelet for each lap they complete to help us tally laps at the end of the event.
Our goal is to raise $65,000 this year ($118 per student). The ROAR Run fundraiser is how the PTA raises most of the money we donate back to Meiklejohn. PTA volunteers run the event, as opposed to an outside company, so that all funds raised go directly to the school. This funding will support paraprofessional hours, instructional materials, grade-level budgets for classroom materials, staff professional learning/trainings, and technology updates. Did you know that over 90% of the annual school budget is used to pay our current teachers and support staff, and that only includes a very limited number of paraprofessional hours? By helping to cover additional paraprofessional hours and instructional/classroom resources, your donations will enable more of the school budget to go to much-needed, additional staff resources to support mental health, STEAM and learning intervention next year. These funds are so valuable to our beloved school and maintaining and adding more support resources directly benefits all our students.
Visit the fundraising site to view additional information and fundraising progress.
Students will ask family and friends for flat donations or pledges per lap. Pledges can be made in advance and donors have the option to enter their payment information so that once laps are entered they will be charged automatically. If donors cap the amount of their pledge, that cap amount will be added into your student total and indicated with an asterisk by their name. Once the laps are entered after the run, student totals may decrease depending on the number of laps actually completed and the amount of the cap. If a donor is paying with a credit card it can be entered here on this website (please note that a 7.5% platform fee is applied to all credit card payments in addition to the credit card processing fee). Cash and checks (payable to Meiklejohn PTA) can be submitted directly to the school as well and will be reflected on the website within 48 hours. Donations can be made until Monday, April 27. Your donation is tax deductible. If you need a donation letter, please email meiklejohnpta@gmail.com.

This year, each class will come up with their own class theme. The theme will include things that students already own, similar to spirit week (crazy socks, beach, wild hair, Colorado sports teams, etc.). Once a theme is chosen, teachers will be responsible for communicating this out to all classroom parents. In addition, each class will be creating a class flag and will choose a fun entrance song for the day of the event.
This year prizes will primarily be awarded for reaching class and school goals as follows:
