Classroom Celebration Coordinators are an important part of our Meiklejohn community! In partnership with the Classroom Celebration Lead, they help plan and organize classroom celebrations throughout the school year. They may also assist with coordinating volunteers, gathering supplies, and supporting other classroom initiatives as needed.
Responsibilities:
Help plan and prepare classroom celebrations
Support classroom activities, supplies, and volunteer coordination
Share ideas and help create a fun, welcoming experience for students
The Classroom Celebration Lead is the primary point of contact between the classroom teacher, other grade-level Classroom Celebration Leads, and the Classroom Celebration Coordinators. The Lead helps coordinate planning, communication, and alignment with other classrooms at the grade level. To ensure each classroom has dedicated support, volunteers with more than one student at Meiklejohn Elementary may serve as Classroom Celebration Lead for one classroom only.
Responsibilities:
If desired by the teacher, work together to create and share a class contact list
Partner with the teacher on celebration dates, classroom needs, and communication preferences
Coordinate with Classroom Celebration Coordinators to plan celebrations, organize volunteers, and gather supplies
Collaborate with other Classroom Celebration Leads to align grade-level celebrations and promote a consistent and equitable student experience
Examples of Grade-Level Coordination:
Aligning celebration stations (e.g., food, crafts, games)
Coordinating shared (bulk) purchases to reduce costs
Agreeing on shared approaches to promote an equitable experience for all students in the grade (e.g., goodie bags)
